On the morning of July 31, Mr. Đinh Hồng Kỳ – Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Green Business Association (HGBA) – delivered a talk on the Challenges of Green Transition at the Green Transition Forum and Recycling Festival 2025, organized by the High-Quality Vietnamese Products Business Association (HVNCLC), the BSA Center, and the HVNCLC Program.

He noted that while the VUCA world allowed business leaders to “predict and exert some degree of control,” the BANI era (Brittle – Anxious – Nonlinear – Incomprehensible) denies businesses that opportunity. Long-term plans—once a source of confidence for many executives—now risk becoming a “dangerous legacy” if they lack flexibility and the ability to pivot quickly.

At the same time, strict international regulations such as CBAM, ESG standards, emission requirements, and supply chain transparency rules are being enforced in markets like the EU, the US, and Japan—creating a “life-or-death boundary” for Vietnamese businesses.
In response to this reality, Mr. Đinh Hồng Kỳ recommended that businesses must recognize that green transition cannot be approached as small, incremental adjustments. Instead, it must be understood as a comprehensive restructuring process—encompassing products, supply chains, operational procedures, as well as corporate culture and mission.
