On the morning of October 12, 2022, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) held a ceremony to honor and present the title of “Outstanding Vietnamese Entrepreneur” in 2022. The event was attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and other senior leaders of the Party and the State. Mr. Dinh Hong Ky, Chairman of Secoin, was honored to be one of the 60 outstanding entrepreneurs nationwide and one of only six representatives from Ho Chi Minh City to receive this prestigious title.
This is the second consecutive time that Mr. Dinh Hong Ky has been honored with this prestigious national award (in 2019 and 2022). The “Outstanding Vietnamese Entrepreneur” award is organized by the National Selection Council every three years. Unlike previous years when 100 outstanding entrepreneurs were recognized, this year the Council selected only 60, following a highly rigorous evaluation process. After three rounds of screening, the Council assigned 22 teams to visit localities across the country to directly assess the shortlisted entrepreneurs. These evaluation teams included leaders from relevant state agencies and experts from various fields. Therefore, it can be said that the 60 Outstanding Vietnamese Entrepreneurs of 2022 truly deserve to be recognized as the elite representatives of the country’s business community.
The most remarkable mark made by Outstanding Vietnamese Entrepreneur Mr. Dinh Hong Ky and Secoin is the image of a true pioneer—always leading in his field, driven by a passion for discovering new technologies and products to serve the country and contribute to construction projects in Vietnam. The journey that he and Secoin have taken over nearly 35 years has been a steadfast path focused on their core strength: technology and the production of non-fired building materials.
Secoin’s development model is oriented toward sustainability—progress that may not be rapid, but is steady and long-lasting. The Artistic Tiles and Roofing products manufactured by Secoin have always been environmentally friendly and safe for users. These products are made using domestic raw materials and leverage Vietnam’s human resource strengths. Yet Secoin’s vision is not limited to the Vietnamese market; its products have reached over 60 countries across six continents.
In recent years, despite facing numerous challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, under the leadership of Mr. Dinh Hong Ky, Secoin has weathered the storm and continued to grow. A flexible management strategy and swift response to sudden difficulties enabled Secoin to remain resilient. Key strategies included market diversification, product diversification, human resource development, customer care, new product development, and production restructuring to enhance operational efficiency.
The reputation of the Secoin brand—and of Mr. Dinh Hong Ky himself—has reached new heights, marked by strategic partnerships with major and well-known corporations. Alongside these achievements are numerous honors and awards for both the Secoin team and Mr. Dinh Hong Ky personally, such as Secoin being recognized as a National Brand for eight consecutive years, and both Secoin and Mr. Dinh Hong Ky receiving Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister.
The joy was doubled this year on the occasion of Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day, October 13, as alongside the title of “Outstanding Vietnamese Entrepreneur 2022,” the Secoin team and Mr. Dinh Hong Ky were also honored by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City with the title “Outstanding Ho Chi Minh City Business and Entrepreneur 2022.” These recognitions from the Government and various departments serve as a great source of motivation for Mr. Dinh Hong Ky to continue contributing to the overall development of the national economy.
