On the afternoon of December 20, 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center, in collaboration with the Hyogo Prefectural Government and Hyogo’s investment and trade promotion agencies, organized the Ho Chi Minh City – Hyogo Province Economic Cooperation Forum 2023 under the theme “Green Economy – Opportunities and Cooperation.”

The program was attended by departments and agencies, leaders from Ho Chi Minh City and Hyogo Province, Japanese businesses and investors, as well as Vietnamese partners and enterprises. Mr. Đinh Hồng Kỳ, Chairman of Secoin and representative of Vietnamese businesses, delivered a speech titled “Secoin with the Global Green Supply Chain and ESG Practices.” This is an annual event aimed at strengthening and promoting trade and investment cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Hyogo.

Mr. Dinh Hong Ky, Chairman of Secoin, shared insights on the potential and cooperation between Secoin and Japanese businesses. Drawing from practical experience in implementing ESG according to the French ICS framework—standards on social and environmental responsibility—and Vietnam’s CSI—Sustainable Business Index—he emphasized the importance of ESG and the need for businesses to take action towards the common goals of the nation and the industry.

The forum provided a valuable opportunity for the city’s departments and leaders to listen to insights and lessons learned from Japan’s green economic development in general, and Hyogo Province in particular. The suggestions shared by Hyogo’s businesses will serve as important material for the city to finalize the “Green Development Strategic Framework to 2030, Vision 2050” and related policies on the path toward building a green economy, as well as for implementing upcoming action programs.
